Default Solid Lifters

Good Morning Corvette Friends!
Has anyone known of 69 L46 to ever have had solid lifters? Mine is and early build November of 68.
Thanks,
Jon

1970, 1971, 1972 LT-1's had solid lifters, but i'm not aware of any 1969 small blocks to have them.
Regards
Roy

I didn't think the 69 had solids, for some reason mine does. Pulled the VC's and the rocker arms are loose and adjusted like solids. My 350 is not #s matching. It looks like maybe a GM Replacemet # or it was rebuilt and someone stamped their own #. The block casting #s look like a 70 L46. Heads, intake and exhaust manifolds casting#s all match 69, 350/350 L46. ??

Let's just assume that in over 50 years someone has hotted up this engine just a tad.
Not numbers matching? Why would you expect anything else?

The 68 L79 did not come from the factory with solid lifters.

Unless you have owned yours since new, they were added at some point.

If they were on the 68 L79 I have not had to adjust mine in 38 years of owning it. The stock cam for the 68 L79 is GM 3863151.

Not an uncommon mod to make. I have a late 69 (October 1969 for the 69 MY) HW code L46 in my 69 Z/28 for now. Deck stamp is V1022HW. It has no partial VIN stamped anywhere, so could be the original engine to an L46 Corvette with vin between 732600 and 738762, or thereabouts.

I still have the original engine but didn't want to blow it up. I don't drive it often, but when I do, I drive it like I stole it.

I made some changes to the L46. I installed the 178 camshaft (70 LT-1) and used the intake and carb and distributor from my 302. Also have some high end small tube tuned headers from a company that is now out of business. It is a blast with 4.10 screw in the back.
No L46 came with solid lifters. The LT-1 camshaft is obviously uses solid lifters. Some time in the last 50 years, someone likely did something similar to your motor.
