Default 1981 assemb instruc manual AIM

Any 81 owners purchase one?
I see a few on the web and there are subtle differences.

All these years and I got by with factory service manual.

Well, I got in a bind working on header bar, re-glued, and time went by
and my memory faded.

I am 2 bolts short for the headlight frame to bar/car and 2 body screws I labeled "horn"? They are sheet metal threads and I already installed the horns, .
2 missing bolts and 2 extra screws. hmm

So, what AIM did you get and how good is it? Where did you buy it?

Thanks

Hopefully you'll find the answers you need in there.

I hardly ever use mine. They're not the best organized and somewhat cryptic to understand. The detail and drawings aren't even all that great if you ask me. Everyone says "you have to get one" and for most guys I think they can get by perfectly w/o it. Usually a guy can find a pic in the service manual, or do an online image search and figure out how something goes and see a 'real' picture of an original car ...or a similar diagram. But about once every 5-6 years there's a reason to dig it out ...and usually after reading what section I was looking at, I have as many or more questions than when I started looking. Maybe it's just me..

I don't use mine often but it has been very useful at times. Sits in the library next to the maintenance manual. It's an inexpensive item that your kids can get you for your birthday. It's from Mid America.

Well, look it over ...decide on your own. If you don't have a factory service manual, you might get a lot more out of that. Esp since 81's were the first year of the computer controlled carb. Good system, like a poor man's electronic fuel management. All you need to keep it running is pretty much in the service manual.

cheers!
