My 75 came with these wire wheels on them with the Corvette center caps. I'm pretty sure Corvette never sold a car with stock wire wheels. I'm not sure what wheel this is and I need to replace the plastic piece that holds the spinning cap on one of them. Thanks for any help
Okay thanks a ton. The tru spokes had thicker spokes than Daytons correct? I'll have to do a Google search and see if I can buy a replacement insert. The previous owner had it glued in with construction adhesive!
My 73 came with those Tru-spokes. Guessing were put on mid-70's. Spendy wheel back in the day. Only the rich guys had them. The poor's bought Appliance wires. Downside to those is they take an innertube. A blowout at hwy speeds could be catastrophic.

It's the valve stem I'm looking at on the rear wheel. Compare it to the stem on the front wheel.
Oh yeah I got ya. I'm still not sure. It's a rubber valve stem but looking at it there's a radial tubeless 275/60R15 on them. If it is tube rear I may try to hunt up a set of rallys or something and set these up. Dealing with tubes isn'ta gig I want to get into. I'll post a couple better pics.
seems to be two different style valve stems. I'll need to get these off and sorted out before something unexpected happens lol.
Your 1st pic looks to be a tube. Perhaps prior owner had issues with that wheel leaking air. 2nd pic is interesting. Is a tubeless valve stem but looks as though it is about to pop out of the wheel.

After inspection the one that looks like it's half out is one with the large "bulb" behind it. I think this rim is thinner than the rim is meant for making it look like it's going to come out. As for the other one I'll buy a new set of tires ( these ones are old anyhow and are showing some dry cracking) and see if I can get the complete set of wheels sorted.
I only have the old manual tire changing stand/tool. The fronts I noticed have the valve stem with a rubber grommet that seats against the wheel inside with the nut to tighten against the outside. I'll need to look into getting a complete new set all around and get rid of the tube. I'm not sure if it's okay to HAVE a tube in a tubeless tire but it seems to be inflated correctly and everything's held air well.
