Default Trailing Arm Bushing install procedure?

Well Murphy strikes again...
I was installing my newly rebuilt trailing arms, and I could not get the toe-in to be stable on the left side, when I finally spotted this:

The center sleeve in the T/A bushing has a split and a huge tab interferring with the shims.

Now I don't know how or when this happened, but these were installed for like 30 min and torqued down only once.
I did not closely double-checked these before installation. But could I really have missed this? I also have no clue how my installation could have done this.

Obviously I need a new bushing. I could go back to the rebuilder, but it really does not seem too hard. I do have a press.

So does anyone know the procedure for replacing this?

Or where would I find it?

I would first try and locate a new sleeve, cause that would be the easiest way.Knock that one out and reflare the new one. Im sure the bushings are OK That is if you can find one.

Thanks!
I guess it looks as easy as swaging the end of a new sleeve with the correct tool.

I'll pull the other one and make sure it is flat as well. Thanks for that tip.

One thing is sure with these cars. You need to DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING
Old parts, new parts, and Even when someone else does work for you.

That bushing was not compressed enough and the flare was incorrectly set. Sleeves are available and you can make a tool. You're going to need a new countersunk washer if you cut into the old one.
