That one hurts my heart both from the human loss standpoint as well as the classic car. I hope the family is able to get past it.
I should be put in jail for thinking... hmm... that big block hood looks to be OK!
A moment's inattention is all it takes. My cellphone rang, I glanced down just to SEE where the phone was (on the seat) whether or not I could reach it, and in that instant someone came into my lane.
I dodged their incursion, but barely. A foot or three.
That was a young lady in Washington state that had just recently bought her Corvette dream car, a 69 big block. I am positive that the rusted frame broke just before the rear kickup. Her and a male friend were on the freeway when it broke and they went off uncontrollably and hit a tree. She was killed but the man lived. There is an old thread on here called "Hope that this is not one of our members".
This is so sad and who ever sold her the car should have gotten charged for selling her a rusted car. Lou.

That's sad....I really don't know what else to say other than it's just sad.
I tried to find more information back then but couldn't find anything. Maybe there is more information available now, I don't know. It is a truly sad story. Lou.

A certain poster has an axe to grind about Corvette design, engineering & build quality.
He doesn't seem to realize he's holding the axe head flat against the grindstone --- an entire forum full of Corvette enthusiasts, many much more knowledgeable than himself.
My question is why would he continue to own one if they're such *****?
Might be happier with a 25 year old Toyota, lol.
