all front ends lowered with cut replacement springs.
The 80 was a full coil
The 69 was a half coil
The 64 was about 3/4 coil
The 69 and 64 were both one time cuts and got me where i wanted the height to sit... the 80 took three cuts in and out to drop it enough, some replacement coils just sit to high for me and that one did.
I've always cut equal amounts off top and bottom to keep the same spring end index though not sure how important that is, you will want to index the coil end at the top spring pocket, I drop a screw down the hole in the upper control arm and turn the spring till the end of the spring hits the screw then back it off a touch.
I also use the rule of them "half the height cut gives twice the drop" so stand the spring upright... if you want a 1 inch drop then measure 1/2 off spring height and that's where you cut preferably with a cut off wheel... again if I'm taking a 1/2 coil off I take 1/4 off both ends but that's just me.
I have also personally found taking a bit off the coil improves the ride but im sure others will disagree.
Eaton springs has a nice video on cutting coil springs if you can find it.
Yea,the 80 sits about where I want it,but I’m putting 245-60-15 up front,so I might go less than 1 coil.but definitely want be cutting but once.lol.hope

I know the feeling, for what ever reason the 80 front springs were not as easy to "dial in", the car came to me with new front springs installed but sat high, i also installed the lowering bolts in the rear, with the new suspension components it wasn't difficult to get the springs in and out just a pain in the butt.
I would start with a half coil and again pay attention to the upper seating index in the pocket, also keep in mind your new replacement springs are going to be allot shorter than the originals but that's normal.
I also have 255 60s all around
Yea,also want to lower rear also, hows it coming with your wheels and side pipes.
coming along, if it wasn't for work and travel I would be done but no rush, will drop rims off Friday for tire mounting, pass side header and pipe finished and just need to install the drivers side pipe, got a Boregeson PS kit I'm doing as well, just needed to be sure drivers side header would go in first.
