Default Power Windowes.

OK, so my 1977 coupe has new window regulators, new motors, new inner and outer seals and felts, the channels have all been removed, cleaned, regreased and reinstalled, the rollers where necessary have been replaced, and the door cards are new. Without the inner door card installed, the windows roll up and down easily with no problems and seal correctly. I have the correct assembly manual for the car and have adjusted the windows accordingly. Trying to put the door cards in is the first issue. The windows must be rolled down to install the card. Then once installed, the windows will barely move up or down, the inner felt attached to the door card pinches the glass against the outer seal very tightly. So tightly that if the door is closed, the additional pressure of the roof seals prevents the windows from closing. I know the tabs the top of the door card hook over are a bit flimsy, but was wondering if they can be adjusted (bent) to loosen the pressure? Or, alternatively, m I missing something obvious?

Wow, must admit to being a little surprised. However, looking further into the condition, with the window lowered and the stops dropped so it is below the seals, the outer and inner seal touch. Obviously I am doing something wrong, not sure what yet. I am wondering if the door inner frames are distorted so as to be too close at the top which causes the interference. As stated before, with the door card removed, the windows go up and down remarkably quickly, but with the door cards installed, evben just unsecured, with the door open, the motors which are brand new can barely move the glass.

Without seeing your set up I would guess the IN AND OUT adjustment tracks are off. There is also a way to adjust the A pillar weatherstripping IN AND OUT by finding the 3 screws holding that piece of track in place loosening them and push the appropriate places. Having a hard time describing the process but pull off that weatherstripping and you will see it. I was having the same issue without the door cards and it ended up being the A pillar rubber was hard so I replaced them. Good luck.
