Default Itching while working under a C3?

Anyone ever have a problem with itching on bare skin after working on a C3 after jacking it up one side and then the other? I recently removed a header sealed with orange high temp Permitex around the collector. Something has caused a lot of itching. It is most likely from ripping the gasket loose or maybe the cars fiberglass released something while jacking it up on stands. Whatever it is spread throughout the garage.

I had it happen. Found out I was allergic to caterpillars. My entire back had an itchy rash. Jerry

Keep some benedryl handy, it will lessen the allergic reaction. YOu may want to wash your floor or whatever your lay8iing on and see if the rash comes back. If it does then maybe its the fiberglass dust. I had that heat wrap around my pipes and when I removed it it was like raw fiberglass everywhere...I was coughing and hacking and had to get a mask.....

I have the same thing happen, I told my dad about it, he suggested putting baby powder/talcum powder or cornstarch on before working on the car. It helped a lot but gold bond medicated powder is the best

It must be fiberglass but I'm not sure where it came from. It just suddenly hit me when I popped open the collector gasket. I recently had a shop replace my exhaust pipe system and they said they used orange form a gasket to seal the collector gasket. Anyway thanks for the tips!

If you have grass and trees around, trust me, pollen and allergens blow in the garage and stick to the garage floor. If on my back on the floor under the car that stuff will pass right through a t-shirt and cause my back to break out in a rash.
