My 17 year old son drove the Corvette solo for the first time. A friend of his followed to take pictures for a project. I think they came out pretty cool! They almost look like pictures from a 1970s magazine. I love it because he has always been intimidated by the car and afraid to drive it. He is a great driver and has his own car. We have been putting some miles on it with him in the driver's seat. Loved watching him drive off in it.
Fantastic. It's good to see some kids these days still interested in the thrill of driving and not glued to a phone or a computer screen - especially a C3 Corvette.
I wish I had something that cool to drive at 17. I taught my teenaged room mate to drive stick in my not-stock '74. It was a bit scary at first...for me!
Nice. Slightly long exposure time to blur the road in the foreground and the foliage but the Vette is in crisp focus. Someone went to photography school.
Great pictures! Lucky kid! My son and I drive a C4 and C3 together to car shows and such, great times bonding, especially during today's time when the younger generation aren't into anything automotive.
Now that he's getting his chops and having fun, and I'm sure he's a great kid ....Take him to a salvage yard and look over some of the cars wrecked beyond belief sometime. Not to scare, but to give a sense of how goofing off and texting *could* potentially turn out. And maybe a little 'scare' can't hurt either.
We drove by a terribly wrecked car being yanked out of the woods when our daughter was pre-drivingn age. That left an indelible image in my daughter's mind. She never horsed-around behind the wheel ..that I was aware of.

Not a bad idea, a visual is always better then a verbal lecture !
