Hello all…I am bringing my car for a front-end alignment. The guy was sure if he had shims and recommend, I buy them. While I have a large selection of rear shims, I did have any front shims.
I went to NAPA to buy a shim assortment. But they only sell them in single size in boxes of 25. Sizes are 1/8 - 1/16 - 1/32 - 5/32 - 1/64.
Anyone know where you can get an assortment box of shims?
I try not to look under my newer cars... can't identify most of the things I see
There's no difference that I know of between shims although the ones with the little tail on them you can hold onto while tightening and the ones without you can hide under body panels when trying to align those.
Original style 1963-1982 Corvette upper control arm alignment shims. Correctly designed shims for maintaining proper camber alignment. Does not include any writing, markings or extra holes on shims as original. Alignment shim kit includes (20)-1/8", (4)-1/16" & (4)-1/32". Made in USA.
I would try another napa..or anywhere else..
they sold me what they had when i tried to align myself.. i failed but gave them to alignment shop as i adjusted them more towards original.. pinched in vice and ground down for better match to originals and ease of moving.
i think they will be universal 14-16 mm and ours are 14mm. Canada grant pic

Do you have crush all of then narrow to make them fit correctly?
Yeah NAPA doesn't have them loose in a box sold one by one. The ones I buy are in plastic bags that hang on a board with all kinds of different bolts, clip nuts, plastic retainers and such.

I went to the Help & Feedback forum and went to transactions-feedback and searched ZIP. Some horror stories and some have had no issues. I guess its worth a shot. It isn’t an expensive item.
