I just bought a home by me (Upstate NY) to move my aging mother into because she's having some medical issues. Closing was yesterday, and the place came with a 69 vette projec
t. I'm looking to see what it's worth. Need to sell to build a safe bathroom on the 1st floor of the house for her. Any help is appreciated.
Small block, non AC, missing entire front clip, unknown interior condition, unknown frame condition, unknown birdcage condition, I’d guess someone might give you $3k, maybe less. Just a WAG.
It would be very beneficial for you to get some pictures of the interior.
If there is any chance you could pull the car out into the open, clear off the dust and and get some better pictures, that would be a plus.
Post a picture of the VIN tag which is visible through the windshield on the driver’s side. If you could wash off the dust in this area and get some good close-ups of the condition of the metal that the tag is riveted to will provide one clue as to the condition of what is known as the “birdcage”.
I'll have to take a look after work. I closed on the house Monday, and have been working at my job since. I havent really had much time to look at the car.
Post pictures of the VIN.
Someone will decipher it and be able to tell you what you actually have.
Check the areas for rust on the birdcage and frame.
Depending how those areas look could make a big difference in the actual value.
You could have a jewel in the rough or just a junk parts car someone stuck you with.
Looking forward to see how this turns out.
There are many web sources but the most commonly used is: C3 Registry (The registry also has a registry of '69s... you can look to see if someone has already added it to the database - they haven't.) The "birthday" calculators are all based on the Corvette production/month data that Chevrolet kept along with the last 5 digits of your VIN. You can also get the exact body build date from the trim tag on the driver's door hinge pillar. Engine build date is stamped on the front passenger side of the engine. If you want to know the date the car was shipped and to what dealer, you can get the NCRS Shipping Data Report ($50).

Serial No. 11742 was the last built in calendar year 1968 and Serial 14695 at the end of January 1969. Based on 2953 cars built during the month of January and 22 production days, that means ~134 cars per day. As your car is serial
14039, it was 656 cars or ~ 5 days from the end of the production that month. Therefore, it probably rolled off the line Jan 24 or Jan 27, 1969 give or take a day or two.
Post it on e bay and let the market decide, but only allow bidders with at least 100 or more good buyer rating to avoid problem people.
Im guessing it’ll bid between $6500 to $8500 depending on birdcage, frame, trans, etc if you take good clear photos of everything. Include all parts for it if you find them.
