I guess that's a personal decision. I left mine bare.
truthfully you don't really see much of them once everything is all assembled.
I suppose you could just paint the very fronts of them and no one would know the difference.
Have to agree, I had wanted Aluminium heads for many years, just couldn't afford them. Finally my stock heads cracked. That pushed me over the edge.

I'm gonna show them off! But you hardly see them.
I've been running those heads for over 6 years now. Maybe they are not the best of the best. But they are certainly an improvement over stock.
And I'm happy to report, zero issues with them.

Thats reassuring Did you change rockers or cam or just heads and push rods?
I'm running a Xtream Energy 268H cam. 1.6-1 rockers. Shim style head gaskets with Hyper 4 cut flat top pistons.

Here is a 357ci ZI built with Trick Flow DH175 heads that I painted for the customer as he wanted them painted......first time I ever painted aluminum heads in my life.......but it turned out pretty neat....
