if it is broken, where did it come from on the car? Or was it just laying on the floor? Maybe a little more info might help someone help you, as in the year, coupe or vert, big block or small block, etc.. Just trying to help you out.

Looks like the upper collar for the steering column.

Regards,

Default Steering Column housing

I apologize for not giving more information about the part. My grandad gifted me a 77 Corvette (late) and I’m attempting to do a restoration. I’m currently rebuilding the steering column but it seems some parts are missing and broken. I’m in no way a mechanic so I’m YouTubing everything. Any hep would be appreciated.

It looks like the site hosting Jim Shea's steering papers is no longer available. A copy of the site is available at Archive.org

https://archive.org/details/corvettefaq

And, no, I'm not making this up. This was (is?) the best source for info on your steering system.

Default Jim Shea Papers

Thanks for the reply. I’ve printed all of Mr. Shea’s papers that are available. I was working on the steering column today and I accidentally dropped the housing part I posted and it the plastic broke a bit.

Cyanoacrylate cement works very well on most plastic parts. Only use freshly opened, and let it sit for a day before handling the part. If you have all of the pieces. It is even possible to build up missing bits using the gel version, CA accelerator and a Dremel to smooth it.
