Default 1980 Body questions

Hi all!

I am starting to get some work done on the ol' girl and am having a blast doing it. I am going to start the header/side pipe install this coming week-end and wanted to get the car cosmetically 'prepped' so it's ready to go.

Before:

After:

All done and ready for the fun stuff:

Sorry, I had to indulge myself with the photos! My actual question is, I noticed a couple of areas where the body looks to need some sort of adjustment. The first being the hood. It looks to be pretty flush all the way around except right at the nose. It dips down about 3/8" below the body. I am thinking I could possibly lower the rear hood stops to bring the nose up more, but thought I'd ask first. It's a bit tough to see in this photo, but here it is:

Also, I noticed the rear section is a bit wonky near the bottom on both sides. It fits nicely everywhere else, just the bottom seems off a bit. When looking at photos of other similar C3s, I don't notice this gap:

I admit I haven't crawled underneath to look yet, but is there some sort of bracing that needs adjusted or is possibly missing?

Thank you!

I had the same problem with the hood on my car back in the late 90’s. It turned out I had fist sized holes in the rocker channels at the #2 body mount location. Before you go and invest any more money in the car check your front body mounts (especially the #2 mount location) and top of your windshield frame for rot. Hopefully your rubber mounts are just worn out (collapsed).
