Default YJ8 wheel ID help

I searched around and there are plenty of YJ8 threads but I didnt find the answer. Hoping some wheel experts can chime in. The wheel is off my 73 (assembled Dec 14 1972) but the date code doesnt make any sense.
The wheel has the XM, the 329381 in the casting but the date code shows 70 71 72 and that doesnt jive with anything Ive found.
Any insight is appreciated

I also found a thread that said the lugs are unique. Would these be the correct lugs?

Actually, the date code looks more like 10 17 72 (the 17 is upside down) which would JIBE (it’s a sailing term) with your production date.

They’re correct but not unique. Also found on the Cosworth Vega.

AH! Ok, that jives (So Bronx native). Thanks for clarifying that.
So is it fair to assume this car did ship with these wheels?

I don’t know that I’d “assume” that to be the case, but it’s a possibility. Since there were only four ‘73 cars delivered with YJ8s from the factory, the NCRS would want more proof, e.g. your tank sticker. Most of the cars ordered with aluminum wheels got the P02 wheel covers instead, much to the new owners’ disappointment.

You'd want to have a lot of documentation to show those wheels were on that car, hard enough to prove that they were from a dealer "back in the day"

Here's an interesting read, gets sidesways down around #50 or so

Sadly I may not get proof, the original owner passed. I am the second owner but I only have a few documents, window sticker not one of them but the tank sticker IS intact. I just cant read it but I can see it's still there with mini scope. I may drop the tank in the Spring.
Thank you all for the help
