Hi Guys, I am doing the wiring in my 69 and trying to find were all the wiring goes under the dash, have sorted all but one connection.
This one looks like it should go near the heater box as the length of the wire is long and bent like its been made to go in the same
direction as the flasher wire/connection.
Not sure if the fuse holder is factory or after market
I have been working on an updated 69 Wiring Diagram, so I am interested in where that connector goes. I does not appear in GM's wiring diagram, but GM did not show wiring for options in their diagram, plus GM made many errors in their wiring diagram and it has taken a long time to find most of them. Your wires appear to be yellow, purple and brown or tan, which does not show up in the standard wiring. The heater resistor would be yellow, lt.Blue and orange, the wiper switch would be dk blue, lt blue and black/white.
The previous suggestion was the rear window defogger. Being an option that would not be in the GM wiring diagram. I have been working with a couple of other guys on the Forum so that I can release an updated version of my diagram and have been trying to find the wiring on options that GM never showed. If/When you find out where it goes, please post it so that I can include it in my drawing. I was planning to post it sometime next week.
My guess as to why Aussie doesn't see where it goes, is because with the interior disassembled to do that work, the forward console extension, with the switch installed in it, is in a pile of parts somewhere outside the car.
Those pictures are from a 1975 C-50 Rear Window Defogger wiring harness, but the wire colors (yellow, tan, purple) are the same as the OP's. The connector is different for 1969's because the switch is different. 1968-1973 used a 3-position **** that was rotated, 1974-1975 used a 3-position rocker switch.
The wiring terminates at the switch, which is mounted to the drivers side forward console extension panel. Switch shown is from a 1970.
