In the aviation industry we use a product called Camguard with excellent results. They also make an automotive version. I run a roller cam so it’s not an issue for me, but if I still had a flat tappet I would be looking at that as an option.

I put oil in my engine as well! But recommending what I run may not be helpful. As I never seen it in the states. But, basically, I run a mineral base made for older cars with plenty of zinc already in it. Off the shelf in all the auto parts stores over here. No need to mix anything. Just read the labels. When it comes to motor oil. Everyone and his dog has an opinion.
