I purchased a 71 LT-1 from 2nd owner with documentation showing export to Canada direct from St. Louis factory.
Car appears to be complete unmolested with the exception of the smog pump gone. Everything in 9/10 condition; runs awesome. Some little to fix but nothing big.
id like to get it judged but don’t know of any sources close. I’m on the midcoast of Maine. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Congratulations! I also have an LT-1 (72) that was originally sold in Canada. Did the car come with the original build information that is available from GM Canada? If this is the car I think it is I suspect it did.
My apologies, can’t get the facebook links to attach, but google:
CruiseMaine and Bangor Muscle Car. Those were the other links that might be able to provide assistance.
These links may or not be able to help you get your LT-1 judged, but if interested in car events, could be places for meet and greets which may lead to getting your ‘71 judged.

While you are looking for a club in Maine to contact, just a heads up there is a NCRS event taking place in Marlboro, Ma. Depends where in Maine but it might only be a few hours trip for you. Make it a day to attend a judging event and there you should be able to gather some information about how to proceed.
While I agree that the NCRS is a great source of information (I’m a member myself) do a little research before deciding to attend a judging event. I would highly recommend reaching out to the event chair to make your intentions known and not just show up. Even though I contacted them a week before the event I evidently didn’t follow protocol as I was pretty much shown the door as soon as I got there.

No misunderstanding I meant go as a spectator, not take the car.

I went as a spectator as well. The event you posted looks much more promising than the smaller event I tried to attend. That one was definitely not open to the public.

True, the one in Marlboro sounds like the complete opposite of your experience. You can watch the tech inspections. Owners are willing to talk about their cars and answer questions you might have. That has been my experience & only wish there were more cars.. Think this might be the closest event to Maine so a good opportunity for the OP to see what it is like. A few CF members indicated they will be attending.
I know this is a greater distance Bloomington Gold but as of today we have 2 1971 LT-1's and 1 1972. There are 5 1971 Corvettes and 1 1972 6 total as of today. Could learn a lot by attending.

Yes, I have the GM Canada Info which shows OPTION: LT1 DESCRIPTION: Engine: 350 CID (5.7 Litre) - Special High Performance -V8. All of the options are noted in the listing.
I've heard this is one of the best documents (outside the original build sheet). This car spent 43 years in Nova Scotia and was brought to Maine 12 years ago by Don K. Is this the same car you had in mind?
The car I was thinking of was recently advertised in the online NCRS classifieds. It caught my interest because it seemed to be in a similar condition to mine and the asking price was around what I thought mine might be worth. I also noticed that it wasn’t on there long. I’m thinking of selling mine so I was curious.
