Default Can anyone decipher this engine code?

I'm researching a 1969 Corvette (build date October 1968). Engine VIN matches chassis, but I can't for the life of me work out what the engine code is. Can anyone decipher this for me?

I see V0927 - So Flint, September 27 1968 (I think?). Then does this say HZ? It appears to be overstamped with something else.

Any assistance appreciated!

HZ is for a 350/300 HP with Automatic.

The fact that your VIN numbers are the same font as the engine code indicates it’s a restamp.

As 69L88 said, that block has clearly been restamped. The VIN derivative is the wrong size, the "V" and "H" font in the engine code don't look right, there are no broach marks (lines left in the pad by the factory machining process), and there appears to be what are remnants of a different engine code on the pad under the current code. I think it would have been hard for St Louis to stamp the VIN that close to the head with the gang holder they used there.

What are the block casting numbers on the left (driver's side) rear of the block and the casting date on the right rear? The casting number and date can be found on the rear flange or the block that the transmission bellhousing bolts to.

It may be the original engine that was decked and restamped during a rebuild, or a different engine all together, not that it makes much difference once the original stampings are gone.

Looks like it was a CKL stamp prior to the restamp.
CKL 73 350 145 2B,TH CH,EC,MC,PA

Thistledew, on the other side of the rear flange should be a long oval casting mark with a date code in it. Can you take a look for that?
