Being the highly trained mechanic that I am I took it upon myself to change out a bad caliper and honestly I did a incredible job BUT I started with a great pedal to now a soft pedal. I pumped the brake multiple times and had a solid fluid line but still not much of a pedal. I do see some fluid leak between the booster and master cylinder. any thoughts?
I agree. Sounds like you need a new master. You can rebuild your own in no time with a kit. You can also get a rebuilt one from Rock Auto or other store like NAPA. Make sure the depth of the piston in the back of the master is the same as the one you have. Don't forget to bench bleed the MC. Jerry
Fluid leak at the back of the master certainly doesn't sound good. I'd be pulling that and inspecting.
if the bore is still good a kit will fix it up quickly.
If the bore is less than perfect it can be sleeved but likely far cheaper to just pick up a new or rebuilt unit.
