1972 LT1 rust

HI All - I'm considering buying a very original and good condition, numbers matching LT1 but it has a rusty frame. The intent is to have a fun) weekend driver but I don't want to have to replace the frame or bird cage. The seller says the rust is from the car being stored in a damp environment. That said I really like the car and would buy it if the rust is cosmetic and not structural, price is 38k. Any thoughts on this?

Have the car inspected by a professional. If it needs a frame and birdcage, you will be upside down if the guy gives you the car for free. Jerry

If its a just a for fun car do not buy anything that has rust. Doesn't matter what kind of car it is. Rust sucks.
