Could C5 17x8.5 fit a C3 with adapters?

The real question is can you find any TIRES that will fit 17" wheels.

I may just purchase a set of 255/60/15. I just need tire so I can sell the car. Have a set of 17/8.5 wheels with good tires in the garage taking up space. thought I could use them.
