Default Blower motor

Read no further, twas indeed ground and found it's connection point

Have a C4 blower motor in my '72, I knocked a wire loose from it and can't find where it goes. One wire, black, goes from motor plug to condenser to wire bundle. The loose wire, also black, comes from motor plug, to I don't know where. I figure ground? If you have a idea, it'd be appreciated. Thanks

C4 blower motor in a C3, this is a thing? Does it work better than the C3? I imagine it would. Does it fit or would it need modification?

It will move more air because the squirrel cage is deeper. You would have to make a spacer that makes up the difference; mine is made out of plywood, maybe 3/4", can't remember.

Im going to look into this further. In your opinion, is the extra air volume from the larger squirrel cage worth the effort of replacing it or is the fan that much of a headache to replace? My C3 fan works but in Texas it barely cuts it.

Basically they fit right up bolt pattern wise. But yes you need to make up a spacer. I did this mod to my car a couple years ago to help my air-con. I believe it was really worth the effort. 84 -85 motors are wired the same. 86 up still fit but requires wiring work.

I believe that the volume of air movement increased an amount that makes it worthwhile to do this mod. Although....there are other things that can be restricting air movement, such as the condition of the evaporator coil and it's environment. There could be lots of sticks and leaves filling that up; I have yet to get into that, as it does not look like much fun at all.
