i was wondering if anyone had an idea on the front end clip on my 68? I am looking to remove this one and putting a stock one back in its place. Also i am including some pics of a carb, distributor and intake. Are they from 1968 or just a replacement over the years? I will not be using them as the car is not a numbers matching car and have another engine for the car. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, it still could be a 68' nose with the front chrome bumper removed & glassed over a lot with the headlight buckets removed & replaced with square fixed headlights. How about a picture from the side ? Shark gills would narrow it down to 68-69, egg crates would narrow it to 70-72, & a large horizontal scoop 73 & beyond. The turn signal location which could be custom glass work is way off for 68 & should be closer to the wheel.
Pics to start may help. ! Thank god your returning it to stock, that is just FUGLY !!!
The nose just looks like someone's failed attempt at a custom nose, heck they used trailer clearance lamps for side marker lamps!
"803" is a the correct intake for a 68 327/300 and 327/350. I can't make out the number on the distributor but the number for a 68 300 is 1111194 and for a 350 hp it could be 1111438 or 1111475. The Q-Jet will have a number stamped vertically. 68 Q-Jet numbers are 7028207, 7028208, 7028219, 7028209 & 7028216.
it doesn't matter what it is-was. take it off carefully, mainly to learn how to do a nose without breaking stuff. sell it for 100 to 1000 dollars. aftermarket 1 piece noses are worth considering. and 68-69 are less pricey as far as grills and gills go compared to 70-72. a little light reading. http://www.corvette-restoration.com/...lation-part-1/ BTW, where are you? you also need to look at the existing inner fenders and decide whether to keep them or replace them. it is easier in some ways as alignment holes and bracket points are all there. but 50 years of wear and bubbalicious alterations may have rendered them junk.

That’s going to be expensive.
If you don’t already have the parts, other than the just the nose, you need the complete headlight mechanisms, all the brackets (and there are lots of them) the side marker lights, all the bumpers and grills along with the hardware. Then the labor starts. Not lots of fun. I wish you the best of luck.
