Looking for input from those who have been there. All the EGR plumbing and the chrome heat shields are in place on my 69 350. Thought it would be easy to take the wing nuts off the heat shield and get to the plugs that way. Seems not to be as easy as I thought. For those who have experience, easier to get them from underneath or move the egr and heat shields?
no advice on 69 as i did a 79.. my thoughts..
- consider wires too if any ignition concerns (while there )
- thought about plugs? the AC Chinesium for me were too long (compared to OEM USA plugs) , went with NGK Japan made
- probably a combination of from top and bottom would be my guess. i wouldn't think EGR would need to be moved?
- try a crescent wrench on wing nuts twisting
Thanks, I do plan to do wires also. With the minuscule amount of miles I put on the car and my age (73) this iteration of plugs and wires may well be the only time I’ll ever do this so might as well do it right. Going to do Lars TDC check for a slipped timing mark on the damper also while I have the plugs out.
