Default L82 intake gasket

Hallo all, I am ordering gaskets for my intake L82 stock, i am planning to order 90314-2 fel pro, that's what the website shows with no other options but i read about "low crush" for aluminum intake... is this my best option for gaskets?

I am planning a small film of gasket sealer on the gasket (both sides) and silicone sealant around the coolant ports... any recommendations?

I will be using the right stuff for the china walls and planning for the 90 minute (im in Arizona) but I read a few posts here using the 1 minute version... is that not way to fast?

Permatex ultra black is what I always use. Never a leak.
right stuff for China wall is good. Ultra black is nearly as good. In either case you'll have fun if you ever need to remove the intake manifold, they both stick very well.
the key is prep, make sure it's all been cleaned with carb cleaner or similar.

Golfobsessed,

The gasket you have selected has the open hot air cross-over.

I am not a big fan of that concept, nor are others. C3s have enough problems trying to keep the carb cool.
Sure not going to make things worse with that gasket.
It has ports of 1.99 H and 1.23 W.

If you want to block-off that cross-over, gasket 1205 is a better solution.
These ports are 2.09 H and 1.28 W.
Just a few thousandths difference, hardly worth mentioning.

Edelbrock makes a wonderful sealant for the side gaskets, (to head & Intake). It's called Gastecinch, small red metal can. Has an applicator brush inside.
It seals really well against gas, oil, vacuum leaks. And does not squeeze out when torquing. I like to let that stuff set-up several hrs.

AutoZone has Permatex Water-pump & Water-neck RTV, small white tube, $9. I run a bead of that around the water ports. It is glycol proof.

The Right Stuff on the china walls. Apply that last and be ready to go with the Intake.
Finger-tight a couple bolts, come back later for final torquing.

I just put the intake gasket on my '80 L-82 and used the 1204 setup with blocked crossover ports. I used indian head shelac to glue the gasket to the head ports first, then wait a day to seal the gasket to the intake ports. I used to use the High Tack around the port openings but the shelac sealer works better for me. Had some internal oil leaks into the ports in the past so I stopped using High Tack there. Never had a problem after that.
