Are the 1970 corvette forward shifting consoles padded?

It might have a little give to it, but it is made of vinyl. Probably wouldn’t make a very good pillow.

Thanks! I'm replacing the current one in my 70 lt1. The one in there now is plastic. I need to replace the brake console also. I believe they are plastic. Is that correct? My 70 lt1 has a deluxe interior. The shifter console doesn't have a wood grain insert. Wasn't this standard with a deluxe interior?
