Ignition Coil
If the coil is not in the ranges given in that video then toss it in the garbage. Do the same for a cracked coil. If you have several coils and wanted to pick the zestiest one of the bunch then pick the one with the lowest resistance still within those given ranges. Will it actually make any difference in how the engine operates? No, most likely not but at least you can give a concrete reason why you picked one over the other.
If the coil cracked I'd also be looking at the cap & rotor and the wire insulation nearby just for giggles.
I have decided to do two things. The first is a BUBA fix. Put some magical JB Weld on the crack. The coil is under the ignition shield so out of sight and I'm curious to see if it will stop any expansion of the crack. The second thing is to order a new Pertronix coil with the 1.5 primary resistance, which resistance wise is basically what I have now. Thanks and take care.
