Ignition key switch action
When I start my '72, the key switch does not have much spring-back to it when I release the key. I always thought that it should. Since I know what it is doing, I always turn it back just a bit after starting. Can this be adjusted with the ignition switch, and if so, when I loosen it do I need to push it or pull it down the column to solve the problem? Thanks

The internal moving parts may be dry/dusty inside.
Follow the metal rod down to the ignition switch. Rotate the key slowly to ACC, then to OFF, then to RUN, then to START.
Let the key return on its own.
Whatever you see moving...put a few drops of 3 in 1 Oil on all the moving parts.
Put a few drops inside the slot that the key fits into also
Rotate the key to all the positions 4-5 times.
Does it seem to have more "Spring-back" in it now when you crank the car and let the key return by itself??
If not then you need to adjust the parts mentioned above in the Shea post.
