I was poking around in the engine bay of my ‘72 today and I found a connector without a home. It’s on the passenger side, coming up from the rear of the engine. Does anyone recognize it?

Had to look it up.
Transmission Controlled Spark Solenoid. An emissions-control system to prevent distributor vacuum advance at normal operating temperature until the transmission has shifted into high gear by using a transmission-mounted electric switch controlling a solenoid-actuated vacuum valve.

I appreciate the education. It’s probably a moot point as I’m swapping in a 383 with Holley Sniper and a Tremec TKX 5-speed. 😜

Unless you're restoring it's not something most would typically use anyway regardless of the motor. Basically made the ending run hotter than normal until it actually warmed up. They did it to lower the emissions when the cars weren't fully up to temp.
The system bypassed when the car went into high-gear one way or the other.
