Default Unknown connection under dash 1969

Saw this disconnected under 1969 stingray dash. Any idea what it’s from or where is it connected too

Headlights, I think… Should connect to the headlight switch behind the dash.

Or the smarter guys will REALLY tell you what it is…. 🤣

Early-C3s had over-ride valves for the wiper door and headlight doors immediately under the steering column. I assume that after '72 they eliminated the valve for the wiper door. That connector fits on one of them.

PS- it always helps to include the year Corvette you're asking about. I'm assuming, given the chrome trim around the accelerator pedal, you have a '68 to early-'72.

They are vacuum lines for the head lights. I would bet a couple of beers your headlights don’t open/close? The colors on the rubber hose will tell you were they go, but you will need a year specific Chevrolet Service Manual.

Since there is a red stripe on the one hose it is for the Wiper Override Vacuum Switch. This is the one that allows you to open the cover over the wipers. When you look under the dash there should be two vacuum switches and a **** between them. The **** is to be able to stop the wipers while they are in the middle of wiping the windshield so that you can replace the blades.

And, you may as well junk the car now. That's it. This is really, really bad. I'll come over with a trailer and Pick it up for you.

I read somewhere that the reason for them was ice storms. I guess the engineers were worried that if the ice got too thick on the car, the headlights and wiper door may not be able to break a thick layer of ice and open.
So you could open the wiper door and keep the headlights up in case your car was encased in ice. No mention on how you get the doors open.

The headlights and the wiper door were engineered by GM to break 3/8 of an inch of ice on them to be able to open. The manual vacuum wiper valve is to keep the wiper door open all of the time for light rain so that you do not have to cycle the wiper door every time that you need to clear the windshield. For the headlight door, you could use it to change a headlamp bulb with the car off.
68 Coupe owner for 53 years, here. It was all that I had from a divorce and had to drive it everyday in wonderful Cleveland, Ohio for four and a half years. They both will break the ice, but I would carefully beat on them with the side of an ice brush to break as much as I could, just in case. Lou.
