Default Hey I'm New,

Hope I'm doing this right. I have a 1978 Silver Anniversary vin 4 L-82. I'm In the process of doing restoration of the engine compartment and engine. I want to put a new harmonic balancer in, but can't find the 8" balancer for it. does any one know where i can get one or have a part number for an upgraded one?

Welcome to the forum! Nice car.
When my Harmonic balancer died, well quite a few years ago now. I was able to order one through Summit. I got one with the timing marks out to 60 degrees and the 90 degree marks for adjusting valves. So glad I did. Over the years that has come in so handy. Really don't remember a brand name now. Probably about 25 years ago I replaced my original.
But I would be surprised if Summit still didn't carry a selection of these balancers.

You will be better off having yours rebuilt. Most of the repops are off shore and quality may be suspect. I had one rebuilt at this place. Worked fine.

Nice car and welcome. I agree with the above about having your damper rebuilt. I used Damper Dudes in CA on both of mine. Jerry

Is the round object in front of your fender flags some type of alarm system ? My 78 uses the door locks to alarm.
Nice car ,and I hope you enjoy it for many years.
