Default Trying to find a recent post

Not too long ago there was a post regarding the insert for the rear crossmember support in a (I think) 1969. Sources for the inserts were discussed. I tried using the searchfeature under differential / rear crossmember / differential support / bushings / etc.

I can’t find it. I even searched my history. If anyone remembers the link, please share it. I have to take the differential down and if I destroy them, I’ll need replacements. Maybe you replied to it and remember?

Thanks!!

BTW: If you do not remember the post but do know where to buy quality quality rear crossmember support inserts, that works too.

Hi interpon: That wasn’t the one I saw. But thank you for looking posting.

I've found it's better to search outside the forum search engine. I add 'Corvetteforum' to my search criteria, and if I think it was my post I can't find, I add my forum name.

Just to demonstrate, I easily found a differential removal post I contributed to, by typing

'c3 corvetteforum differential ignatz'.

This popped up right away.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...l-install.html

If this is not what you are looking for, I'm just guessing here.

But for my contribution to the thread, I've been successful at removing and reinstalling my differential twice now, without dropping the crosssmember and using the two tools I showed in the picture. This would not require replacing the inserts. I don't think anybody's ever taken me up on this.

Hope this helps.

Totally agree! I’ve done exactly that many times and get much better results.

I have always had better luck using Google to search for Forum Posts. First time don’t be too specific, then after a few searches try to add more details of what you want ie. Model year, tranny and etc.
