A friend asked me if I could ask here, for a ball park value of a 70 LT-1 convertible, he has owned it since 1970, 19k miles, maroon on saddle leather, original survivor car, he says it’s a 10 out of 10 condition wise. He’s wanting to sell and has no idea of market value. And he’s not a CF member.
Every seller says it's in perfect condition. Every buyer argues the fact.
Pictures, lots of pictures. And this car is well over 50 years old. To be a 10 out of 10 nearly everything and certainly everything rubber has been replaced. Every seal, ball joint boot. Shock eye bushing, you name it. It better be NEW. Or it is certainly not a 10 out of 10 but rather a car that needs everything!
Pictures of the underside of the car, pictures of the bird cage wherever you can. A complete list of all replaced parts.
then perhaps we can discuss value. It's over 50 years old. So many variables!
It is worth what many people are willing to pay for it after being properly marketed to a large audience that is interested in 55 year old money pits. Pick a number...

Hagerty just released their Jan. '25 values & it can't be a 10 out of 10.
That would be a #1 concours condition car worth $138k, a 1 in 500 Vette.
So let's say #2 excellent: $84,700. That's a 30-40 out of 500. A #3 good condition car shows $44,200...
I was going to say north of 55K because of it being a convertible and the highest horsepower of the 3 year run of LT-1. Just a guess on my part.
pictures would help. Is it highly optioned ?, tilt-tele, ps,pb,am/fm stereo, deluxe interior, power windows….all these options would make the car more valuable, in my opinion.

Roy
A very recent auction of a similarly described low mileage ended at a $60k sale. It had a little over 40k miles and also owned since the early 70s. Probably not much more than that. I would be interested!
As he cannot back it up to the phone so I can hear it run $55-75K.......based on recent sales and limited, like really, no information about said unicorn. Good luck.
I have been involved with the sale of TWO similar cars both 1970 LT1 roadsters, both low mile survivors.
70 LT1 roadster daytona yellow blk int long time owner, low mile original exhaust etc sold a few years back for 60k.
70 Lt1 roadfster Laguna Grey under 10k miles - sold for IIRC a little more than 60k.
Both nice cars which presented well, but were garage dirty... and needed fuel system gone through, paint detailed, chassis cleaned, carbs built, etc.
All paperwork, including window sticker, bill of sale, the protect-o-plate, tank sticker, all receipts from day one, all paperwork in good condition also.
Maroon exterior, light saddle factory leather interior
Has both tops for car
F41 suspension
M21
4.11 rear end
its a early car so no power steering
Power brakes
Tinted glass
We talked about tele column but I don’t remember if he said it has it or not.
and he has owned the car since 1970
All original, never messed with, in pristine condition
He working on getting me some pictures to post soon
