I bought a kit of floor pan drain plugs from Zip that came with 6 of the round flat plugs that go on the floors of the cabin and rear compartment. There was a 7th plug (pictured) that I can't remember where it goes so rather than page through the entire AIM I assumed someone on the forum would know off the top of their head.
You never know with a 68 but I did a quick check in the 68 AIM I have and I believe it's there, maybe a early/late thing?

Mooser, take a look at the lower right table: revision #7 says Item 13 was added on 3/22/68. I am not up on the specific details of when a revision is updated in the AIM versus when it hits the factory floor, but this indicates ~3/4 of the model year did not have the rubber vent fitting.
I am pretty sure that my March 26, 68 didn't have it. I was the third owner, but the other two were girls. Ice could have scrapped it off on mine. Lou.
OK, I get it, as I said, "maybe a early/late thing?"
You asked, I just checked the copy of the 68 AIM I have, it was there so I answered what I read
Obviously it was added later in 68 as pointed out by Owen
The part number is the same as the part number used from sometime all the way to 82, that's what a 3948148 drain plug looks like.
I've removed the offending post
