I'm restoring a 1971 Roadster and when I removed the wiring harnesses and what was remaining of the rear Astro Ventilation steel vacuum hose behind the seats, there were a number of small J hooks that were riveted to the panel behind the seats under the carpet, the sides of the console and underneath the left sill plate. Most were rusted and not reusable. I can't find them anywhere and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find them or has ideas about how to make something that will work.
Here’s a pic I took a while back when I pulled the carpet from behind the seats (Also a ‘71 LT1 Roadster). Are you talking about the one’s such as where I circled in red? On Amazon, if you search “Automotive wiring clips” there are all kinds and sizes. I’m sure there’s something you can use. I will be replacing these as well at some point as what’s in that pic is part of the rear harness that I will be replacing.

The item(s) in the last photo above are generally used to secure plastic split conduit. These have a hinge that can be snapped closed and work very well for securing tubing if you file or drill out the plastic center where it circuiles the split conduit.
I've looked at all of them on Amazon and ordered a couple but they turned out to fit well very well. mostly too large. The ones with the PSA backing and a plastic strap would fit perfectly but I'm nervous about how long they would stay attached under the carpet. If I can't find the originals anywhere I'll have to order something from Amazon and try to make it fit.
Ok, those are the one's I thought you were talking about. Please post up if what you get works out. You are a bit ahead of me as I won't be tackling that rear harness for a bit.
Thanks, will definitely do. I just ordered the ones with the press in fittings and zip ties attached. None of my original search terms returned those when I first looked on Amazon.
To replace mine I just drilled out the rivet on one and "unbent" it to get it straight. Then using that as a template, I simply made new ones by cutting them out of some pieces of sheet metal I had around. Drill a hole on the rounded end for the new rivet and dip it into some liquid rubber or plasti-dip and viola, new replacement clips!
