I need to buy tires,Radial T/As and don't really want to go with a 255/60. Can somebody post a few pictures of a 245/60 and a 235/60? These are going on an 81 but I feel the 255/60 is too tall and a shorter sidewall is what I'm looking for. Thanks for any tips.

A 235 has a diameter of .9" less than a 255, so the sidewall is less than a 1/2" shorter. The 255 is the stock diameter of 27".
Installing wider tires on a late model C3 was very possible, so if you want 255's, you can do it. If the diameter for 255R60's is too larger, go to a 255R50. Check specs to get the tire diameter you need for the width you choose.
For early C3's, 235 width is about as wide as you can go and be SURE that they won't rub up front when turning. Below is pic of my {now sold} '71 coupe with 235R60-15's all around--
