Default 1977 upper dash cracked...oops!

I am the original owner of my 1977 corvette. While removing my upper dash, I guess I applied to much stress to attempt to slide it out. It cracked in center from front edge to defroster vent. It broke my heart after trying to be so careful. Anyone have any suggestions to repair the dash, or do I have to bite the bullet and order new one? I will not but the dash pad cover.
Any help would be appreciated,

Mine is cracked also. I've pondered repairing it and even saved this great tutorial from a fellow on the forum here..... but I'm leaning to doing the easy replacement (but they ARE ridiculously expensive).

I will go to an upholstery shop and see what can do. Will let you know what they say.
