American Collector agreed value referred through USAA. Only claim was a flatbed charge. Sent them the bill and they sent me a reimbursement check. No problem.

We’ve always had Hagerty and have loved them. BUT, they just called and said they were no longer going to cover any losses for wildfire in our area. The guy that called was trying to be sneaky…he said they would like to offer us a lower cost policy for our cars…then when we were going over details it came out that there was no coverage for wildfire and there was no option to keep our current coverage. So we are now looking for a new company too.

There will be a lot more companies bailing to follow suit as well, including home coverage. If they haven't yet filed for bankruptcy !!

Being a senior now, be careful about how your insurance is titled. Everything expensive we own is titled in the name of our trust.

I was with America Modern for years. Something happened in Feb of this year (the conspiracy theorist in me suspects CA wildfires and NC Hurricane claims) and they pushed my policy to Heacock for service ... premium doubled from $500 to $1,050 for same coverages. No accidents , no claims ever. I have agreed upon values for an 04 Z16, the '82 and a 70 CJ5. I called to ask about the change but got the runaround . So I shopped Grundy, Hagerty and a few others. Went with Hagerty - same coverages but $700. Best I could get for now. To be honest, these companies have zero loyalty to us, same for me.

I am trying to find insurance before I buy. Hagerty told me I had to have a locked garage, which I don't have. I also want to use it to go to the store and Dr appts, which they said I could not do. My insurance will give me full coverage for a C4 or C5, but for a C3 they will only give me liability. Don't think my wife would have enough foot room in a C4 and I really don't like the C5s. I am 71 and llike the old corvettes better.

I have Hagerty and can drive anywhere with no mileage restriction..... it just cannot be your daily driver. I would certainly call and get clarification.
