Got a headlight issue on my ‘72. Lights flip up but low beams don’t come on unless I hit the brights. Checked the dimmer, that wasn’t it. Installed a new switch. Still nothing. And now, when I activate the brights, they come on but after a few seconds, they start flickering. Finally, the foot pedal for the brights is sticking so if the lights are activated, the brights stay on. Any ideas what’s going on here?
Thanks in advance!

Is your headlight switch a replacement unit? I didn't have non-functioning low beams but the high beam load would cause the internal temp breaker in the chinesium replacement headlight switch to go nuts.
You should probably trace your low beam circuit to figure out where the loss of continuity is or the grounding issue, and then either replace your new switch with the old one (as it's probably fine) or keep the new one and install a simple relay setup.

Reason: grammar
Replacement headlight switches are junk. Put the original one back in. The foot switch is the high/ low switch. Sounds like a good place to start. Do you have power out of this switch for low beams? If yes start following the wire with a test light. Perhaps a bad connection at the firewall for instance.
