I recently purchased a Saginaw power steering pump for my 79 with a 350 crate motor with a short water pump in it. I am in need of a bracket for it, but after doing some research, there are way to many options out there to choose from, I’m not sure which one is correct, can anyone out there help with this? Maybe some pictures of your similar setup. Also I need a press on pulley.
The '79 AIM will have the part number info you need. If you don't have a copy of the '79 AIM, you need one. Someone else who has a copy will provide you with the bracket P/N. But you still NEED a copy of your own if you are going to work on your car. You also NEED a copy of the Chevrolet Service Manual (if they were still making them in 1979). LOTS of detailed information in those that can be invaluable when delving into the innards.
Chrome is not known for having friction. As sharp as chrome parts look, a chrome pulley will belt-slip something awful.
Prepare to rough-up the pulley groove with something abrasive.
Anytime you are looking for C3 parts, look on EBay. Be surprised how many specific used parts are available in very good condition.
