Kick panels

I’m replacing the carpet on my kick panels,any tips on removing the old carpet off,this is a 1981,so pretty sure have never been replaced before,would a heat gun get them off, thanks.

Never mind,I thought they were clued on,it appears they were stapled on,I might have to clue them when I go back,what do ya do,staple or clue on.

This is the bracket for light on kick panel,the head is round,hows it come off,grind head off.

This is the other side.maybe drill out,any help.thanks.

That's just the same kind of soft aluminum rivet that Chevrolet used all over Corvettes, they're quite easy to drill out.
