i have a 69 with a few issues
1) the head light doors do not open when I pull out the head light switch, but they work when I use the over ride under the dash.
2) the wiper door opens every time I start the car
thank you in advance with any advice you can provide
Wiper door popping up when car is started usually indicates a vacuum leak in the system so a check of your hoses is in order. Is this something that just started? Headlights might also be a vacuum problem or maybe the light switch itself.

Very common problems, first check your headlight actuators. Those are the big, usually brass colored round canisters you will see when you open your hood. With the hood up you will see them right at the front of the nose in the gap between the open hood and front of the Corvette. Most often it’s just the rubber membrane has developed a hole and you lose the vacuum seal… You can just buy the rubber membrane that’s cheap rather than buying a new actuator for around 100 bucks. There are videos on YouTube that will show you how to do that. Like this one:

whipper door coming up when you start your Corvette is most likely the vacuum valve switch you will find underneath the base of the passenger side whipper arm. That fails a lot… When you turn off your whippers and they close the passenger side arm comes to rest on top of the vacuum valve switch depressing it which closes the whipper door. See video:

If that doesn’t fix it there is another vacuum valve switch hidden attached to the passenger side wheel well, in the engine bay, that’s hard to see and get to. It looks way different from the whipper arm switch. I try to get some pics and post them to this thread later…
