Default Radiator suport bracket problems

Hey Guys,
I was installing a new radiator in a 1978 corvette and am having problems. It is a champion 4 row aluminum radiator. Its a bit big I guess and that may be the whole problem. The issue is the upper radiator mounts do not fit on the drivers side.
Passenger side is ok due to the fact that the mount is over the fined portion of the radiator so the height is a bit lower. For the drivers side to fit the bracket is over the solid metal (end cap) portion of the radiator so its taller and does not fit.
I bought the longer rubber inserts so that is not the problem. I hope this makes sense. I added some pics below. Has anyone seen this before or have a good solution? I could drill some new holes I guess but I don't really want to.

No, I didn't drill different holes in the car.
I cut and rewelded the upper brackets to locate them where I wanted them. I'll go out and get a couple pictures.
Mine is a 77 but basically the same.

That may be the solution for me too. I'm not good at welding but I guess i'll learn. Do you know if a bracket for a big block would be tall or wider?

The rubber inserts for a big block have a wider opening. That's what's on my car. The bracket is the same.

I did the exact same as 4-vettes above.
champion 4 row, too big so I just modified the existing upper brackets. My weld job isn’t pretty but it works
