Look at the rear “shelf” for the casting number and date.
I can't get to the casting number very well.
It was sold as not being original. Just looking to double confirm I guess. The second owner told me the engine is an 1970 (or was it 1971/1972?) LT1.
The car itself is a base 300HP car.
Your snip is from the NastyZ/28 website. The B and F in the right column indicates the FC code was installed in B-body and F-body cars so the engine is a 327 and came from a Biscayne/Belair/Impala/Caprice or Camaro.
If the suffix code is "FC", which it appears to be it's a 327/235 with a 2bbl and a Turbohydro 350 out of a 1969 mid size Chevrolet (Chevelle and Malibu) built at Doraville GA. The "D" in the third position in the VIN number (19D047675) identifies the final assembly plant of the car the engine was originally installed in as Doraville GA, where I think they were building both GM A and B Bodies in 69.
It appears the block might be a 327 — very interesting. The second owner replaced the engine, but why they would swap a 350 for a 327? Who knows. It's highly modified, so I wonder if a 3.48" crank was installed.
Currently, it has a Weiand single-plane intake, "186" casting heads, and a monster TRW TP112N cam.

Engines get replaced for all kinds of reasons. The previous owner may have already had the 327, it might have been the only thing he could afford at the time, you never know. Years ago I found a 62 Bel Air 509 sitting in a field. The owner pulled the '09 in 73 or 74 during the gas crisis and replaced it with a 2bbl 283, fortunately he kept the 409. A friend of mine just came across a 69 convertible that was originally a 427/435, but has a 69 396/375 out of a Nova in it now. People do strange things all the time.
The 186 heads could have come from a 300 hp 69 350 if they have 1.94" intake valves. If they have 2.02" intakes then they could be from a 69 350/350. In both these cases, the rocker studs were pressed in. If the heads have original screwed rocker studs and push rod guide plates, then they'd most likely be from a 70 LT-1.

Thanks C3 Cliff, something to look for. Not sure the size of the values.
