Early '69: Underdash vacuum/electric part??
I'm admitting my ignorance here. I'm working on a headlight vacuum/actuator issue, and while checking things under the dash I see a gold cylindrical object with in & out vacuum lines, and also with an electrical connector on it. I don't know what it is or its function, but either way, it looks like its missing a vacuum hose at a tee fitting, and while I'm looking for the missing hose I'd just like to know what the heck it is and does.
I appreciate any information or clarification.

Maybe I missed it... I don't think Alan 71 told you what it is/does.
It's the wiper door solenoid. When the wiper switch is activated this solenoid triggers the vacuum to open the wiper door.
