I don’t have Pics, but in my other cars, I have put in a few w CarPlay. Personally I like the OEM or close too OEM look. I e used the new ( but look old ) Blaupunkts and for the Vette I may use the Continental one with BT as it’s cheap, looks ok, does the job.

For CarPlay Idbuy from Ali Express out of China. Or Amazon first. They sell direct boards you put into the OEM systems and poof, wireless car play. The same places sell Single Din CarPlay units. I’d start there. I’ve done 3 units and zero issues.

Will do. I might install it today and I’ll take some pics. One thing I will say is these new radios what I love about them are they very small and very light so they don’t weigh down that plastic bracket or plastic panel in the gauge cluster

That took about 30min.

Personally, I can’t stand the look of any new aftermarket screen, but right now it’s all about what works.

I will eventually buy a Gauge cluster and mod it from the back somehow with 3D printing and fabrication so it would look factory and retro. Like Singer does.

I’d like to have same profile as the gauge cluster has around it and look factory, but that’s for another day.

70 bucks Canadian so for you guys that would be about 50 bucks. Everything works.

I didn’t hook up the microphone. The internal microphone is low for Bluetooth and the car is too loud, but that’s not the point of this. Waze works good connects very easily and the glare is OK. Again for $70 Canadian it’s impossible to lose.

Does the job, looks basic for now but a lot of room for creative improvement.

Blaupunkt has released some new receivers that look like the early models but have modern options. I plan on a full system in my 81 and this is what I plan on using.

I have used a few of those in 911s. I bought the orig SQR DAB remake when it came out. The company that makes them is only using the Blaupunkt name, it’s Basicly a faceplate on a stock newish radio.

What I did in my main car, was got an Orig SQR23 and re lamped it, fixed the buttons, and soldered a AUX unit where the tape was, and connected a BT unit to it.

Then used a button to swap between radio and BT.

now I have an orig 1986 radio, with BT capability.

I can PM you details on that if you want.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was basically a Blaupunkt wannabe. I want a nice stereo that doesn't have all the flashy BS. I've got an old Kenwood PS 900 I think it is. Is it possible to find NOS face plates for these old Kenwoods?

No clue on the Kenwoods. I mostly know the German car stuff. Mindyou a lot put in the Continental BT radios as its
modern but looks nice for vintage. No flash BS. I personal think it’s the same radio as the Blaupunkts out of China. Again, rubber companies do not make radios.

I still may put one in. I just wanted to see what 70 got me

want to be or not, the feel and quality buttons is there.

I went with an Aurora Audio module update into my 100% OEM radio.
BT, streaming, Smart Phone controls, subwoofer, etc, any option you want.
No NAV tho.
