Hello I got a 1979 vette .. my wipers don’t work .. I tested the motor the switch and the relay and I got no power to any of them.. yes I did check the fuse it’s good and I got power there.. I did check and it seems I do have a good ground.. any help or ideas would be appreciated.. thanks… Dan
From the manual posted above:
Wiper/Washer troubleshooting starts on page 8A-72 and finishes on page 8A-77 so there is not one single page to upload here...

I took it to a mechanic that is an electrical whiz, and after troubleshooting, he found the bad ground issue. He then made a proper ground and the wipers work.
I just don’t understood how a bad ground would stop power from the fuse box to the relay and switch ? I can understand with power a bad ground would make it not work ..

You still haven't confirmed if you have the delay option or not...
2 completely different circuits.
Probe the [ower wire for 12v...sometimes the wire breaks inside the protective wrapping. You will find the spot where 12v appears..the damage is slightly further down the 12V power wire. Like they said...check the delay circuit also to see if it is preventing 12V power to travel thru the power wire.. Maybe evem temporarily bypass the delay system to rule out problems.
On the delay circuit you will NOT see a fuse in the Wiper fuse socket...
What you should see is a terminal connected to one side of the fuse socket...
This side of the fuse socket should be HOT with ignition switch in both the ACCY & ON positions.
The terminal should have a Brown & White stripe wire, if you follow that wire you should find a inline 25 AMP fuse...
The solid Brown wire existing the fuse powers the wiper control assembly. That control assembly is in the center consul near the radio.
So I got a 25 amp fuse in the wiper spot but I also have that control assembly thing in the consul under the shifter .. got 2 sets of wires and it’s a black box .. I got this car with the wipers not working and I have just never got into it until now ..
Attached is the 79 drawing with delay with added locations of Connectors:
Yes, you should have 2 connectors at the Control Assembly (Black Box)
One of them is C529 C=Connector
If you look at the top of the drawing you will see "Hot with ignition switch in the ACCY or ON" positions.
If you follow that line it lands at what they call a IN-LINE FUSE 25 amp Brown/WHT stripe wire. That is Circuit #41..
Exits out of the fuse and changes to a Brown Wire at C529 C=Connector...
Also at C529 you should have a Yellow Wire Circuit #93 that wire changes wire color to White and passes through the firewall bulkhead C115 connector and to the middle terminal of the 3 wire connector at the wiper motor..
So, Ignition Switch in ACCY or ON you should have power to the White Wire at the 3 wire wiper motor connector (C113) Circuit #93...
Thank you for this.. I don’t have power to anything except power at the fuse.. now I know the colers I can hopefully follow and find the cause..
Look for a pigtail with the inline fuse, I'm not 100% sure but I think the fuse is removed and a special connector plugs into the wiper fuse socket.
Just putting a standard blade style fuse into the slot will NOT power the Control Assembly box...
That's the way I understand the drawing anyways...
I own a 77 so I have noting to compare physically too...
