Default What is this part?

I was given a box of parts when I bought my 1978 L-82 a couple months ago,

and this was laying at the bottom. Any help as to what this is and where it goes? If it's not from my car, it would be the only item in the box from another vehicle. Thanks

There's nothing like that on my 78. Could it be an aftermarket oil cooler?

Man, I don't know. There isn't a single after market part installed, but some of the smog control parts like the AIR pump were removed.

Take the hose off and see what type of residue oil is left there at the inlet/outlet... if any. As Jerry said, most likely Aux trans cooler, assuming you have an auto.

Most likely the hard lines from the transmission were cut off and the rubber lines were slid in and clamped. Jerry
