Been looking at replacing my rear spring on my 74 with a composite spring, looks like 330 # looks best based for my vette, anyone have advice on springs and shocks would be much appreciated

When I got my 75 vert, it had been changed to a Hyperco 200 lb composite. I find it rides very smooth, however, I wouldn’t mind it being a little stiffer.

I fitted a TRW 315lb spring to our '78 25 years ago. I fitted new Koni Adjustable shocks all round at the same time. The transformation in ride was amazing, exactly what we were looking for in the car that we were using increasingly for touring, in the UK and more importantly in Europe.
It still riders nicely, but if I was wanting to drive it harder I think a sway bar (ie the Gymkhana suspension package) would be beneficial. The shocks are probably getting near replacement time now, but we are still happy with the set-up.
VB&P 330 mono spring, Bilstien B8's in the rear. 3/4 inch rear sway bar. Rides great handles fantastic.
stock gymkhana springs and sway bar up front, coils cut one coil. Bilstien B6's
The stock spring is a little over 40 pounds. The composite spring is about 8 pounds. I have the VBP composite springs on my C3s. I like them. Not only to they weigh much less, they are easy to install and remove. Removing and installing the leaf spring makes me....nervous. If you replace your stock spring with composite, you car will develop a case of bouncy butt. The composite springs have no damping friction loss like the leaf springs, so they make the rear of the car a little bouncy if you don't install stiffer shock absorbers.
